ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Nanostructures in general, are considered as the basic building blocks for the next generation of electronics, photonics, sensors and energy applications. It is undoubtedly important that the synthesis and growth of semiconductor nanostructures of a broad range of materials should be promptly reported so as to keep track of novel techniques to synthesize technologically potent metal-oxide nanostructures for lasers, optics and photonic applications.

Workshops

The objective of this workshop is to extend the basic and advanced research trained to young faculty and researchers about basics of semiconductors and various synthesis techniques about growing nanostuctures. This workshop will provide us with the knowledge of Nanophotonics that signifies the utility of nanostructures to enhance the interaction of light with matter for applications such as, ultrahigh speed all-optical processing, frequency metrology, novel mid-infrared sources, and quantum information technology.

ABOUT THE COLLEGE Kongunadu college of engineering and Technology (KNCET) Was established in the year 2007, Approved by AICTE, New Delhi, Affiliated to Anna University, Chennai, Accredited by NAAC with B++ grade and certified by ISO 9001:2015. The college has 6 UG courses (CSE, IT, ECE, EEE, Mechanical and Civil) and 3 PG courses of CSE, Embedded system Technologies, Applied Electronics. The college stands 14th rank among 509 Engineering colleges affiliated to Anna University, Chennai based on examinations. The college has obtained research grants from various Funding Agencies, organized National Conferences, conducted Guest Lectures, Seminars, and Workshops. ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT The Department was established in the year 2007. The Staff members of the department are well qualified with rich teaching experience. The Department is quite active in conducting Workshops, Seminars and Faculty Development Programs to create awareness about recent technologies to students as well as teachers. Our department has conducted two CSIR sponsored workshops during 2017-2018.
